Occupying three miles of the Platte River and over 5,000 acres of Nebraska river bottom land, this lodge invites you to enjoy some of the best duck and whitetail hunting the Midwest has to offer. The river bottom habitat along the Platte is ideal for allowing whitetails to reach maturity and their full potential. We only take a hand full of hunters at this destination each season assuring the trophy quality is kept at a very high level. Outside of the state of Texas you will not find a higher success rate for free range whitetails.

The majority of the deer hunting here takes place out of tripod stands in the river bottoms along the Platte. Often bucks are intercepted as they cruise for does or return to their bedding areas from the surrounding agriculture fields. After the corn has been harvested in the surrounding agricultural fields, all the deer will retreat into the habitat along the river. This creates a density of trophy whitetails that is rarely seen outside of the Texas brush country. The gun season is during the peak of the rut, so rattling can be terribly effective during that time.

Archery season runs from mid September thru the end of December. Rifle season is mid November and typically runs for 8 days. Muzzleloader season runs the month of December.

The habitat also provides excellent duck hunting. As the temperature drops, the spring- fed warm-water streams attract waterfowl like magnets. In addition large numbers of Canada geese use this as area as staging grounds before heading further south. Enjoy your passion from the comfort of heated blinds. In the afternoons clients can enjoy some of the best pheasant hunting found in the Midwest.

Although the lodge provides the guides and dogs, you are welcome to bring your own retriever along. Indoor kennel facilities are available.

The accommodations, food and service at this lodge are what set this operation apart from much of the competition. With room for up to 12 guests, this is the perfect place to entertain corporate clients or family members. Large spacious great rooms with large flat screen TV’s, fully stocked bars, comfortable beds with down comforters, a massage room with a professionally trained masseuse, all adds to the comfort for the lodge. After a successful day afield, return to a true culinary experience at the lodge. Start with hors d’oeuvres like smoked pheasant dip followed by entrees such as roasted prime rib of beef with au jus, goat cheese and basil stuffed chicken breast, or apple wood smoked bacon wrapped duck breast.

Clients can arrive at the Scott’s Bluff regional airport which is just minutes from the lodge or fly into Denver which is located 3 ½ hours away and rent a car. Transportation from Scott’s Bluff is included in the hunting packages.
